| Weathered landscapes. Whether man has interrupted, manipulated or used the environment, we have produced landscapes that seem to wear the weather. Simply, my landscapes reflect the way the force of nature continues to demand our respect and attention. My landscapes rely on the quality of paint to describe the weathers impact within the frame. Thick gobs of paint make luscious fluffy clouds or thunderous storm clouds, while chunky stripes, heavy and distorted imply an open desert sky. Thin washes rely on flatness or detailed brushwork to reflect my impressions of theses landscaped scenes. Whether man merely plops things into the landscape, covers up or impregnates it, I am interested in the way paint, paper , pencil and pen can describe a sense of interlocked endurance over time. |
