PHIL LANCASTER
Phil Lancaster lives and works in Atlanta, but being raised in a military family, he moved up and down the east coast living in 7 different states. He received his BFA in painting from the Memphis Academy of Arts and MFA from Syracuse University.
Along with being included in numerous juried shows, he has been in a drawing exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, a one person show “Drawings and Objects” at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, and a two person show at Georgia State University Gallery. He was in an invitational summer show at Fay Gold Gallery and featured in Colin King’s Anthropologie Showhouse in NYC. His work is included in numerous public and private collections
Lancaster simultaneously had a career in home furnishings. As the Senior Director of Merchandise at Ballard Designs he designed case goods, upholstery and oversaw the design of decorative accessories. He executed the Ballard Designs Outdoor catalogs and helped build the Ballard Designer Collections for Bunny Williams, Miles Redd and Suzanne Kasler. Working in home furnishings offered him the opportunity for travel throughout Europe, Asia and South America giving him a unique perspective that has had a great influence on his painting.
